ABOUT
Hello cakey fans, I'm Nikki, better known as Nunu. A nickname given to me by my nephew who couldn't say Nikki and now it's stuck and given me the name for my business.
I started baking with my wonderful Nanan, Dorothy at about 2 years old. Sitting on the kitchen worktop elbow deep in a bowl of pastry, making jam and lemon tarts. It quickly became a weekend tradition and has carried on throughout most of my life. I've been baking for family and friends ever since, making many birthday cakes, christmas cakes and treats for family get togethers.
Ever since I've been trying out new recipes, playing with new tools and learning, learning, learning. I have totally caught the baking bug. One very important thing about me is I LOVE cake! This means taste is extremely important, which is why i choose only fresh, quality and when ever possible, local ingredients. Everything is made by my own fair hands (I'm well aware I'm not that fair, but it sounds nice hehe)
All the techniques I use are self taught from hours and hours of practice and I've loved every moment of it.
After years of poking by my family and friends to go into business and share my cakes with others, I have finally plucked up the courage, and here we are.
My bakery is based out of my Nanan and Grandad's home kitchen as mine is far too small. They are rather happy with this though as they get lots of free cake and buns out of the deal.
